Design Guidelines & Rules

Design guidelines are regulations that govern the appearance of the community. Guidelines are typically used to create distinctive attractive places and ensure that present and future development is context sensitive. Design guidelines add value to a community’s built environment by ensuring well-designed buildings, attractive and useful improvements, appealing facades, and cohesiveness. Guidelines can apply to a variety of elements – lighting, signage, basketball hoops, concrete, paint colors, transit shelters, benches, sidewalks, public spaces, parking, etc. The design guidelines are an extension of the CC&R’s.
